Stay tuned for announcements about our next Fresh Meat Class!
The Columbia QuadSquad recruits new skaters about two times per year. This fall’s tryouts proved that our sport is growing and here to stay!
Our 8 week program will teach these new skaters safety, the rules of the game, strategy, and ultimately turn them into some of the baddest chicks on eight wheels!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email our New Skater Coordinator, Chucktown Bruiser at [email protected] or the head of the Training Committee, Truckstop at [email protected].
You must be 18 years old or older and be able to afford monthly dues. For insurance purposes, a liability waiver is required before tryouts. Required gear includes skates, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads, helmet, and mouth guard (we have limited gear you can borrow till you get yours). If you are interested in purchasing skates, we recommend contacting a roller girl for tips on preferred brands.
Derby is a physically demanding sport. Get in shape! The more you skate, the better. You can learn to skate by attending open skate at the Skate Station USA in Lexington (803-356-3500). Normal rink fees apply.
