“Ask me why I’m bald!”
On Saturday, March 26, 2011, several members of the Columbia Quad Squad stepped up in support of childhood cancer research. The team attended the 5th Annual St. Baldrick’s Columbia fundraiser at Jillian’s in the Vista.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds childhood cancer research grants and is most noteable for its head-shaving events held worldwide. At these events, volunteers have the opportunity to shave their heads to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer while raising money for the Foundation at the same time. CQS supported St. Baldrick’s by donating a portion of bout proceeds from their “Luck of the Brawl” bout and by setting out donation cans at the bout. Fearless Fritz then answered the call by volunteering to shave her head and accepting donations on the St. Baldrick’s website. Over the next week, several other CQS members stepped up in an effort to show their support and to help raise even more money for the cause. Dani Dynamite, Lisa Goff, May Q. Panic and The Man Behind the Curtain (aka Mr. Dropkick Dorothy) all shaved to show their support. Many other CQS members also cut off their locks to donate. Within the first hour of the event, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation was able to pass their goal of raising $50,000 to fund cancer research. Columbia Quad Squad was so proud to take part in this great organization and cannot wait to help out again next year.

i dont think i have ever been more proud! : )
I have to say that this was one of the most rewarding experiences ever! FEARLESS FRITZ earned her name by being the first to step up with out a second doubt. I love being a part of the CQS family. And now a part of the St Baldrick’s family!!!
