How’d you pick your name? People have called me Eva Las Vegas since I was in high school. When I started derby, I spent a couple of months trying to come up with another name, but finally decided if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

Gear you can’t live without?: Well, obviously my skates! But after that, my 187 knee pads.
Why did you join CQS? I went to one bout, and by half time told myself and everyone around me, “I have to do this!”
What do you like most about Derby? A sense of comradery with other girls while also getting to hit them and knock them over. Really, what else affords you such an opportunity?
What’s your favorite derby memory? On the track: making my first B team roster against River City Rollergirls. Off the track: Being my derby wife’s labor coach.
What’s your derby mantra? Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither are rollergirls.
What’s your greatest derby accomplishment? Learning how to skate! I couldn’t even stand on skates when I started, so the fact that I can do it really fast in a circle and hit other girls strategically is amazing!
What is your favorite move? Booty Block
Likes: Derby. Books. Painting. Bruises. DIY stuff. Indie and foreign films. People with personal convictions.
Dislikes: Skating clockwise. People with tunnel vision (as a metaphor, not the medical condition). Romantic comedies. Alarm clocks. Germs. Corporate greed.
Severe Injuries: A damaged meniscus - kept me off the track for 10 weeks in 2010.
